The Position

EngeniusMicro is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary staff of engineers and scientists. We seek a candidate able to work in a fast-paced, small team environment through all phases of the product life cycle from conceptual development and detailed design through manufacturing, testing, delivery, and support.

Primary work duties include component selection, schematic design and capture, board level testing and debugging, and system level integration and testing, and engineering documentation. Systems under design incorporate a combination of skillsets spanning digital, analog, mixed-signal, and RF applications. RF modeling and testing may be required for some projects. Firmware development may also be required when necessary.

Basic Qualifications

This position requires a bachelor's degree from an ABET School in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 2+ years of applicable experience with microcontroller-based embedded hardware and firmware products.

Experience with debug, bring-up and troubleshooting of electronic printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies comprising embedded hardware and firmware is required.

Required Skills / Experience

Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience is required in:

  • Digital and analog electronics theory and design
  • Embedded microcontroller-based hardware design
  • Interfacing to sensors and high speed mixed-signal components
  • Control system programming (C, C++, Java, Spin, Python)
  • Firmware for various MCU families
  • Circuit design
  • Schematic capture
  • PCB layout
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Test equipment and debug/test methods

Preferred Skills / Experience

Familiarity or experience is preferred in:

  • Experience with 3D Printing
  • Electronics packaging design
  • Thermal management
  • VHDL/Verilog
  • RF Circuit Analysis
  • SoC designs such as Zynq and Zynq Ultrascale+ including architecting and interfacing with peripherals, interrupts, and related bus architectures
  • FPGA PCB design
  • Mentor Graphics development tools such as Modelsim / Questa
  • Xilinx FPGA design tools (7-series FPGAs, Ultrascale+, Vivado, Xilinx IP cores)
  • High-speed serial communication standards and interfaces (e.g. Aurora, 10Ge, PCIe, DDR4/3/2/1, JESD204B)
  • Interfaces such as AXI4, AXI4-Stream, AXI4-Lite
  • Industrial Robot interfaces, Human Machine Interfaces
  • Mobile App Development (iOS, Android)
